It's an odd thing,
All this purring...
What turns it on,
Or where it comes from.
From deep in the throat
Out it does float
With our never knowing
What gets it going.
It may be contentment,
Or even resentment.
Perhaps it is greed
When we're wanting a feed.
Yet once it ticks over,
And over and over,
You must fully attend
To catch the purr end.
Sometimes it's passion
Of course, cat fashion,
Which means we might play.
Keep your hands well away!
See the tail flick
You'd better be quick
For this game demands
The slashing of hands!
Yes, 'tis an odd thing,
All this purring.
What turns it on
Or where it comes from.
From deep in the throat
Out it does float
With your never knowing
What gets it going.

Hi Herky. Been hearing about you from Elbi. Have you met Plumpy yet. I commend him to you. My name is Scaredy and I belong to Lorenzo the Llama. I am ginger and white and very fluffy. Maybe we could meet up on catbook?
Scaredy.
