Humans often wonder why
We won't look them in the eye.
It's because we're very naughty
And, preferring not to lie,
We look away to hide the guilt
Pretending to be shy.
Oh, if the truth be known,
The blame we'd have to own.
Yes, we did the deed,
The one they've just discovered.
We didn't know the vase would break
When we jumped on to the cupboard!
So there it lies on the floor
Smashed to bits by touch of paw.
Paah! I was nowhere near that spot
They'll never know 'twas me!
Meow, I'm pretty hungry now
So how's about some tea?
