When God designed the puss cat,
He wanted warm and furry;
Gave it great big smiling eyes;
Inside put something purry.
A friendly, happy mouth, a grin;
Cried out for tickly whiskers'
With odd ones sticking out the cheeks;
Suppose we wouldn't miss those!
Random swirls for eyebrows
With carefree wistful strokes.
Then made it sort of fluffy
To please the human folks.
Which way to make the ears go?
Much harder to decide.
I know, I'll make them mobile!
And so he made them slide!
The body he made lithe and supple
Though spine was rather nobbly
And with sticks for legs, well not so good
But paws were nice and bobbly!
He hid some claws amongst the pads
Providing self defence,
Oh, and a wiggly waggly tail
For balance on garden fence.
Poor God! Now feeling rather tired
And no end had puss cat got;
So baggy pants he quickly drew
And then that final dot!
Herky
